In order to provide the very best that we can for our Harmony family, we have partnered up with 3 amazing institutions of higher education: Lone Star College, Texas A&M International University, and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

How do I participate in dual credit? |
Dual credit is the wonderful opportunity where high school students can earn high school and college credit at the same time.
Students have multiple options in order to earn dual credit. They may take classes at the university (TAMIU), be taught by Harmony staff (Lone Star College), or take online courses (Lone Star College and University of Texas Permian Basin). |
First and foremost, students must see whether or not their are eligible to take such courses. Students must pass certain Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exam portions depending on the class the student wants to take. Normally, if students wish to take a mathematics course, the need to pass the mathematics portion. Students wishing to take a class that is not math related must pass the reading and writing portion of the TSI exam.
Students must speak to the counselor if they want to take dual credit courses. After students have met all the requirements, students must complete the appropriate forms and turn them in to their academic counselor in a timely manner. |
